Scope Changes and Addenda
Question 1 of 1:
Scope Changes and Addenda
You are the construction project manager responding to a bid announcement for an $8 million car dealership consisting of a 20,000 square foot showroom, 60,000 square
foot service center, and a 20 acre site. The owner initiated the first bid announcement a month ago and now insists on an update, just days prior to the bid submission
date. The owner has requested that the service center now be upgraded with an oil-changing station adjacent to the main structure.
The owner communicates to all bidders that the oil-changing center is critical to the success of his project and should be added to the project scope immediately. You
become concerned that the added scope at this late stage in the bidding process will affect the competitiveness of your bid and will extend the project’s duration past
the owner’s required delivery date.
How will you use technology to communicate your concerns regarding cost and schedule to the owner and illustrate the negative effect on the budget and schedule of the
project that these changes will have?
