Description: i mportent i want u to anlize this part of this movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_qFHKZRFqg General Outline The purpose of this assignment is for
you to use the skills you have gained so far in the analysis of films (fiction or non-fiction) and apply them to a film you have chosen. You are asked to
write a 1000-1200 words essay (double spaced, Times New Roman, Font 12), analyzing your chosen film thoroughly. Make use of the critical concepts we
have learned so far. You are asked to analyze how the film creates meaning for particular audiences, focusing on how it was made and arranged with
regards to your chosen focus. This requires you to a) briefly describe the storyline and significant aspects of the film; b) to analyze significant signs used
in the film and how they are put together to create a certain meaning and c) to reflect upon to whom the ad is addressed as well as its production and
reception context. Point c requires you to think about larger issues and contexts of society and culture and show an awareness of how films operate in
these. Critical Thinking: You will have to communicate some strong critical thinking ideas, so your analysis of the film will be a significant part of the
assessment. Articulated and developed ideas: You must make your point using clear and understandable sentences and push your ideas to their fullest
conclusion. Organization: You need to make conscious choices about how to best structure your ideas and how to connect those ideas. Research: For this
assignment you need to do research and make use of relevant literature on critical concepts, film analysis and your particular film. At least three
resources are required. Assignment Guidelines: 1. Find a film that you find interesting. You may choose a fiction or non-fiction film with a minimum
running time of five minutes. 2. Do background research on the film and find relevant literature relating to film analysis, critical film concepts and your
chosen film in particular (if available). 3. Begin your essay with an introduction in which you frame your analysis and provide a concise and clear thesis
statement. Clearly and concisely express your focus, research questions and argument in the introduction and state how you will go about addressing
these. 4. In your main body briefly and concisely describe and contextualize the film with regards to your focus of analysis. Remember that you cannot

do everything and hence you need a clear focus and research questions. 5. Explain what the film is about, when, where and by whom it was made and
discuss other relevant issues such as whether it is a commercial or non-commercial film; mainstream, art-house, actuality, documentary, etc.; which style
and conventions it uses; what main target audiences were; were there any controversies surrounding the film; what impact did it have when was it first
released; etc. 6. Describe and analyze the film in detail with regards to your focus, using some of the critical concepts we have discussed as well as
making use of relevant academic literature. 7. Proofread, edit and improve your essay until it reads fine. Include references in APA style as well as a
bibliography at the end of your easy. If in doubt, find a friend who could give you some feedback about the essay and its quality. 8. I can also give you
some feedback and assistance with your essay, but I can only read up to one paragraph or a general outline and give you feedback on that before the
deadline. Come to see me during my office hours. 9. By 4 December 2013 upload your essay to Blackboard, which needs to show your full name and ID.
