Read the editors introduction to each section in Erturk et al. (2008) the textbook for this module- and then choose one of the sections themes and read all extracts

from the articles in that section. Then discuss why the theme of the section that you have chosen from Erturk et al. (2008) is an important issue in contemporary

business and economy, and how it relates to your own business environment or why it does not.
From above instruction I have chosen Section #5 (CURRENT DEBATES QUESTIONING FINANCIALIZED MANAGEMENT) and chapter #2 SHAREDHOLDER VALUE AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCR.
As per instruction I should discuss why theme of section that I have chosen is an important issue in contemporary business and economy, and how it relates to your own

business environment or why it does not.
For example the view of shareholder value linked to short-termism, vs. some of the other literatures which explain its relevance in terms of long-term value creation,

I would need to build an argument between the two perspectives and then form a conclusion.
I want to be objective, analytical and critical using the evidence and theories that are related to my chosen theme.

High marks will always be gained by the student that demonstrates a coherence in their argument, use of the evidence and some originality in the analysis.

The marking distribution will be as follows:
Comprehensiveness and accuracy of the review of the literature, and the organisation and structure in presenting the key arguments in the literature25%
Critical analysis of the literature with own ideas and experience25%
Discussing the relevance of the subject to the students own business and economic environment with references to the practice30%
Presentational qualities of the paper- citation, bibliography, paragraphing, spacing, spelling, quotations etc.20%
