Single Subject Design Research Project:
Students will design a single subject research project to measure behavior change for an individual client over a period of time.
The student is to provide a case summary of a ?client? or an agency. Imagine that you have collected this information from the individual or agency and utilize the Bloom & Brock model as a single subject design to assess whether the intervention or change in policy has produced significant change from the baseline typical behavior. Develop a series of 4 measures (n.b. plural) one with Behavioral baseline, one with Clinical/theoretical baseline, one Strength Based and one New Replacement Behavior which will encompass and describe the problem domain which is the target for treatment. For each measure use hypothetical data to develop baselines, identify the typical zones, chart each measure, consult the tables to ascertain the necessary frequency of performance to achieve statistical significance, and interpret the binomial table value. Be sure to identify the significance level you use and provide a rational for employing it. Also provide a precise specification of the intervention. n.b. →You do NOT have to provide data for the treatment or post-treatment period, but you DO need to specify the length of the treatment/post-treatment period and indicate how you will determine if the treatment was a success. Write-ups from the projects should use APA Format. Be sure to include the following:
 Description of the presenting problem(s)
 Description of the goals/desired outcomes in measurable terms (dependent variables)
 Description of the intervention(s) (independent variable(s))
 Description of the baseline phase including the length of time & Source of Data (Actual or By History)
 Description of the intervention phase including the length of time
 Definition of Successful Behavior Change as defined by the Binomial Method, i.e. how will you determine if your intervention is a success
 Overall evaluation and next steps based on the outcomes of the single-subject design.
