Paper instructions:
Social Policies
The main purpose of social policies is to help individuals and/or communities. Social policies can appear at the federal, state, or local level. For example, unemployed individuals may receive temporary unemployment insurance benefits from their state based on guidelines established by the Department of Labor’s Unemployment Insurance (UI).
Some believe that social policies do not always lead to an individual’s betterment, because they may not encourage individuals to obtain necessary skills to be self-sufficient. Social policies also may provide insufficient benefits, prompting other individuals and communities to provide additional assistance. Such assistance may include food or clothing drives or monetary assistance that might strain the individuals or communities providing this assistance.
