Please refer to the table and figures below. These provide information on the topographic setting, the parent material, the soils and the properties of the soils observed at a location in Dartmoor.
Part A (25%): For each of the soil types describe the profile provided. Your description should explain the horizons present and how they came to be. Maximum 750 words.
Part B (75%): Now provide an account of why specific soils are observed at particular places on the N-S topographic transect. Your account should tie together the influence of topographic position, parent material and the drivers of soil development. Maximum 1750 words.
