Project 2: Stand Your Ground: Book Analysis and Leadership Ethics Case Study Description and Instructions (75 points). Project 2 consists of two parts: 1) a book analysis and 2) an ethical leadership case study.

This project is to be an academic paper reflecting graduate level writing. Please use APA writing style for citations and reference page. The project is to be submitted as one (1) Word document containing two (2) distinct parts (Part A and Part B). The document should have one title page and one reference page. Part A must be 3.5-4 pages of text (maximum) in length (not including the title and reference page). Part B must be three (3) pages (maximum) of text in length (not including the title and reference page). Page borders are to be set at one inch. Use the Times Roman font (size 12). Paragraphs are to be double spaced. Headings and subheadings must be used to organize your thoughts. Also, use the headings �Part A�and �Part B� to distinguish the two parts of the project within the document.

Part A (35 Points). For Part A of the project, you will read the book �Stand Your Ground.� Offstein discusses the importance of leaders developing character and practicing honorable leadership. Please include a clear introduction and a conclusion summarizing your thoughts and application of concepts. Your analysis of the book should include the following subheadings:

1) One point with which you agreed and why.

2) One point with which you disagreed and why.

3) One point you found most helpful to your growth as an ethical and honorable leader and why.

Please use a form of these points as headings to organize your paper. Please know that papers without headings will not score as well.

Part B (40 Points). Read the case study in the Daft textbook titled �Waite Pharmaceuticals� on pp. 388-389. Address several ethical tensions (2-3) involved in the case study you believe are important and apply the principles of ethical and honorable leadership found in �Stand Your Ground.� Please include a clear introduction and a conclusion. In organizing your paper please use the concepts from the book (e.g. "Wash Away the Gray") as subheadings. Be sure to review the grading rubric for the project before you write the case study to ensure you clearly address all the criteria for which you will be graded. Remember to also clearly explain how your personal ethics apply.
