This essay assignment focuses on understand and explain the different stylistic changes of Greek and Roman sculpture (and the cultural ideals that define them), how one influenced the other, and the differences between them.

Using the images provided (and properly ID’d), discuss the 4 major stylistic changes of Classical Greek Sculpture beginning with the Archaic style followed by the Early Classical, High Classical and Late Classical (also called Hellenistic) eras. Be sure to put each sculpture within its proper era.

Next, again using images provided, discuss Ancient Roman sculpture within the context of its cultural ideals and compare/contrast those with Ancient Greek Culture.
