Summary of improving business performance with lean

Summary of improving business performance with lean

read the book before you write

Bradley, James R., Improving Business Performance with Lean, Business Expert Press, New York, NY (2012), 13: 978- 1- 60649- 264- 2

A book summary consists of a five page, double-spaced, 1 inch margin typed document in 11 or 12 point font that describes the key points of the manuscript. The first three pages will consist of a high-level summary of the book. The purpose of this section is to ensure that you understand the main points discussed in the book and help focus your thoughts for in-class discussion. This IS NOT an outline of the book, which is often found in the Table of Contents. Instead, the purpose is to briefly summarize the main “take-aways” for you as a business and supply chain professional. It is suggested for you to focus on two to three main “take-aways” in the summary section.

The last two pages will consist of your feedback and reaction to the book, which should include life experiences that relate to principles discussed throughout the manuscript.  Feel free to agree or disagree with the issues and perspectives discussed in the book. However, ensure that you are able to rationalize and back-up those points of agreement or disagreement. The purpose of this section is for you to be able to ground the concepts discussed in the book with your own prior observations.
