TAJ MAHAL
Project description
(The bulding is Taj mahal )
1. Title Page
2. Table of Contents (numbered)
3. Name, Summary, and Examples of the approved Building Type
Include Historic, Geographic, Climate, and Cultural References
Include written and graphic (photos / diagrams) content
Describe where your Building Type has been found, track it through time and place, and describe that
natures of the culture of the peoples who have used this Building Type.
Document a minimum of four specific examples of your Building Type with written descriptions and graphic (photo) images and diagrams. Photographs with site information are required.
4. Analyze and describe in broad terms the typical construction methods and materials used in your Building
Type. Describe how you believe the materials and methods used have responded to the cultures and
climates of the peoples who have used them.
5. Foundation Systems
Research, unfold, and document the types of Systems that have been used as the interface between this
type of Building System and the earth below in order to provide the adequate structural support required
to keep the building from sinking or tilting into the earth below. The pieces of these systems are installed
in a building in order to carry weight. Document your findings with written descriptions, photo images,
and diagrams of technical and explanatory natures.
Each term or construction system element must feature a comprehensible definition or explanation of its
function or use. Each term or construction system element must feature an explanatory visual helping to
support the definition or explanation. Annotated hand drawn sketches are required for each term.
Include a minimum of one original technical drawing: hand-drafted drawing to scale on 8.5×11 vellum.
Technical drawing to include small Title Block, Partial Foundation Plan at 1/8=1-0 scale,
and Vertical Section Detail at 1/2 = 1-0 scale. Include overall dimensions and material thickness
dimensions: all drawings. Include leaders and notes that name each building material: all drawings.
6. Wall Structure Systems
Research, unfold, and document the types of Systems that have been used as vertical supports for your
Building Type. These vertical support systems are the components that have been used to adequately
carry all the weight of the building down to the foundation systems below. These systems may be bearing
walls, or bearing columns, or a combination of both. Include documentation for interior and exterior
systems, for this Building Type. The pieces of these systems are installed in a building in order to
carry weight. Document your findings with written descriptions, photo images, and diagrams of technical
and explanatory natures.

Technical drawing to include small Title Block, Partial Exterior Elevation at 1/8=1-0 scale,
and Vertical Section Detail at 0.5 = 1-0 scale Include overall dimensions and material thickness
dimensions: all drawings. Include leaders and notes that name each building material: all drawings.
7. Roof Structure Systems
Research, unfold, and document the types of Systems that have been used as horizontal supports for
Your Building Type. These horizontal support systems are the components that have been used to
Adequately carry all the flat or sloped weight of the building roof horizontally, over to wall structure
systems below. These systems below may be bearing beams, or joists, or slabs, or a combination.

Document your findings with written descriptions, photo images, and diagrams of technical and
explanatory natures.

9. Wall Environmental Barrier Systems
Research, unfold, and document the types of Systems that have been used as vertical walls : as the
Interface between this type of Building System and the exterior environment and climate of its location.
The primary intent of the wall barrier systems are to provide for a climate tempered or controlled
interior environment, protected in some manner for the moisture and temperature extremes of the exterior
conditions. Secondary intents of wall barriers are to admit light, ventilation, and human access in and out,
in controlled ways. The pieces of these systems are installed in a building in order to protect the interior
environments from the exterior environment.
Document your findings with written descriptions, photo images, and diagrams of technical and
explanatory nat
