Tango for Four

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Essay Topic: Write an essay discussing the art music composition “Tango For Four” by Astor Piazzolla, as performed by The Ridere String Quartet. In the essay, provide all of the following: 

1) a very brief bio of Piazzolla, 
2) a discussion of his “New Tango” style, 
3) a breakdown of moments in the video that show which parts
of the song are “new, using new musical techniques” and which are “traditional
tango materials”
4) a discussion of how the symbolic dualism (male/female symbolism) is expressed, and 
5) a discussion of the role this particular work plays as a
“social statement”
