Each student will analyze a current organizational behavior issue (diversity in workplace in healthcare).

The paper should integrate both the theoretical and practical.

The analysis should include, but is not limited to, an in-depth examination of the situation or issue using the following format:

1. Provide an overview of diversity in healthcare organizations and why diversity is important.
2. Identify one problem of diversity in healthcare.  For example, you could limit the paper to diversity hiring or patient diversity issues (language or cultural barriers).
3. Conduct a literature review of the problem identified in number 2.
4. Discuss the probable causes of the issue identified in number 2.
5. Discuss alternatives to solve the issue identified in number 2. Discuss advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
6. Discuss specific steps healthcare organizations may take to solve the issue identified in number 2.

This requirement is equivalent to a term paper that the student has not submitted before for academic credit. The minimum length requirement is 10-pages, not counting the title page, abstract, and reference section. References must include academic and professional journals, and organizational literature.

This course will require students to use the citation and reference style established by the American Psychological Association (APA), in which case students should follow the guidelines set forth in Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6^th ed.) This accounts for 30% of total grade.
