The abolitionist movement has always carried with it the goal of the complete manumission of the institution of slavery. However, solidarity amongst abolitionists was not always present in their crusade against slavery and the movement was in fact, divided amongst racial lines. For this question, compare and contrast the methods used by abolitionists from antebellum times to the Civil War. What were the differences in the views of black abolitionists and white abolitionists? How did the tactics and methods used by the two groups differ?
