Assessment
Write a grant proposal to gain funding. Informed by the
feedback from your presentation, write a short outline
proposal for funding to answer the following grant call
“Funding is available to further understanding of physiological
mechanisms and to allow research assessing”:
• The benefits of different nutritional strategies on
physiological systems, including cardiovascular, metabolic,
musculoskeletal, and cognitive function in later life.
• Poor nutrition that may have adverse effects on these
systems and a harmful impact on health.
• Nutritional strategies that can mitigate these adverse effects
in older populations.
Grant Proposal
Informed by the feedback from your presentation, write a short
outline proposal for funding to grant call.
No more than 4 pages, including references.
Font – Times New Roman or Arial size 12.
• Name, student number, /title
• Background
• Aims/hypotheses
• Methods/analyses
• Justification – Why should we do this? What is the novelty?
Creating a Successful Grant Application

• Think, talk, write, reread, rewrite, repeat.
• Include relevant literature.
• Emphasize important points in bold text.
• Use a storytelling approach.
• Write in short, hard hitting sentences.
• Make sure your question is worth answering!
