the extent of the extraneous variable and the process of sampling.

Extraneous variables may have an influence on the dependent variable. In what ways do researchers attempt to control extraneous variables? Support your answer with current literature.
Extraneous variables are the variables that affect the bearing of the factors that a researcher intends to study. The extraneous distort the clear observations out of the undisturbed relationship that should be used. The researchers therefore take the initiative to regulate the extraneous variables to avoid much interference on the dependent variables.
In controlling the variables, the researcher has to recognize the variables ton be able to access the effect they have on the data, and the possible ways of reducing their effects. The identified variables are then standardized throughout the dependent variable operations to ensure the effect is uniform in their treatment. Nursing research, the best approach to remove the extraneous variables is to remove the confounding variables through meta-analysis technique.

According to Lodico et.al (2010) the extraneous variables are the sources of error in the research process, hence there is a need for the researchers to standardize their effects for accuracy in the conclusions.
