Imagine you’re applying for the position of Program Director for a prevention organization. You’re excited about the prospect of working with this organization, and they really want you, but they’re stuck in an outdated mode of prevention education. They present volumes of information in their print, presentations, and on their web site, believing that more information will lead to healthier decisions.
Before you agree to work with this organization you feel you must let them know you have a different perspective: You believe that engagement is far more important to information dissemination.
In a well-developed, thoughtful essay explain your position to this organization. Your explanation should synthesize everything you’ve learned in this class into a coherent response. The people reading your essay won’t be persuaded by your opinion. They need references. You’ll need to reacquaint yourself with the materials from this class, and any other references you can find, so that you can provide quotes and references to support your case.
