This section of the novel is titled, “Wind: The Things that Shift, Evolve, and Challenge.” How does this characterize the nature of Rumi’s meeting and subsequent relationship with Shams of Tabriz? This encounter changes the nature of Rumi’s relationship with others. How did you feel about this? What was your impression of Shams during this part of the novel?

This part of the novel develops the personal stories of three female characters central to Sweet Blasphemy: Kerra, Kimya, and Desert Rose the Harlot. Which to you find most compelling? Why?
