Outline and evaluate the logic of the so-called “austerity measures” imposed upon Greece in recent years by other countries in the Eurozone, the IMF and the World Bank in exchange for financial assistance?
Be careful to identify any problems with this logic as well as any potential alternative approaches that could be used to address the problems facing the Greek economy.
You should also comment on and evaluate the ethics of the austerity approach.
As a result of your analysis, would you support the austerity approach or the approach of the recently elected Syriza Government in Greece?
