You are the elementary/secondary (select one) education curriculum specialist for your school district, and you have been asked to be in charge of the professional

development program for the teaching faculty.
Please prepare a plan for the 2014-15 academic year, including readings and workshop topics. Your plan should include each of the following topics:
• Assessment
• Curriculum
• ELL students
• Classroom pedagogy
Please provide a scholarly foundation rationale for your plans by citing relevant research. Provide summaries of the research articles that new teachers in this

professional development will be required to read.
What are some of the other activities that are conducive to effective professional development for teachers that you plan to use? Include a schedule of activities in

the professional development program that support a culturally responsive content and pedagogy.
