The race of inequalities interact and intersect
Project description
While race, class, gender, and other dimensions of inequality are often discussed in isolation from one another, such inequalities interact and intersect. Locate at least five advertisements (e.g., print ads, television commercials) that illustrate how stereotypes related to race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, class, religion, or some other social category are not static, but interact with each other. For example, through your analysis, you could illustrate how stereotypes of masculinity vary according to race in that White men are typically idealized while Black men are dehumanized and Asian men are portrayed as passive and feminine. In addition to your media sources (i.e., advertisements), you are required to locate a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles that help you develop and support your analysis. Both your advertisements and your journal articles should be no more than three years old (i.e., published no earlier than 2010)
