  • Prospective view of Tim’s personal ethical standard
    • Complicated billing practice
    • Give discount for client happiness and raise on the others
    • He brought this issues up to the management, as a partner of this organization,
    • Management is believing that fair to GLC on billing practice
    • He wants assure that GLC is acting ethically and consistently billing practice to their clients
    • He is the one of the knowledge and experience in the GLC and he also graduate from Harvard University.
    • He seen the GLC can get trouble on their billing practice in the long run
    • Tim has resistance to adopt in change of the GLC culture and policies
  • Prospective view of the GLC ethical standard
    • Lack of transparency and communication during the meeting
    • During the revaluation proposal meeting, the GLC can’t provide a copy of presentation and did not feedback or communication with attendees
    • Management implemented on their own way what they believe/advantage of senior partners
    • Bureaucracy within the organization
    • Below mid-level and new partners were remain silent during the meeting due to the rise of economical issues/worry to get fire
    • Below mid-level and new partners were resisting to concern about GLC practice due to vulnerability (stay in favor with their own boss, main the loyalty to the GLC and support of their subordinates)
    • Unclear billing between administrative expenses and a mix of different items.
    • The GLC management resistance on a client who comes to us for help is experience some legitimate confusion and they difficulty in saying no to the client
  • Principle for ethical consulting
    • Tim does not want to harm to his client Park food due to the GLC unethical practice.
    • Finally he sees in clearly and simply picture of what is happening the GLC and how the GLC management is being managed on their own believe. Williamsom did not see any irregularities between Boston Machine’s billing records and he believes that the way GLC run on business for own goods and profits.
    • He realized although his technical problems with the GLC billing practice and he tried to pushed out to his partners for the long run of GLC.
  • Conclusion/recommendation
    • Tim was happy to leave the GLC and he learned from his past experience to move on his new career.
    • The GLC is good place to work and everyone was happy to work with this. Many employees agree that the company environment was less stress compare with others.
    • My recommendation if Tim do not decide to leave the GLC, he identify all resistance is taking place within organization and support the resistance directly to the management.
    • Don’t show the expression of the GL billing between Bolton machine to practice directly to the senior management and he take the responsibility on his own project with the parks food within his own ethical standard. In that case, he can’t expect support from others senior with the firm or you may expect argument and criticism.
    • At the bottom line, Tim needs to show his own confidence and keep moving to his own destiny.
