Topic: Compartaive Politics and Economic Systems

2. FIRST:

In 1,600 words compare and contrast the different readings. While comparing and contrasting the different readings:

• I am not looking for a summary for the readings; you have to analyze the readings critically and have a line of argumentation by answering ‘one’ of the following:

1. Based on the readings of the Chinese case visa-vie the Soviet Case, why China now is the second largest economy if they were communist. Explain why they have been successful.
2. Compare Filgstein with Baraki; if you are talking about corporatism, think about the Political Economy of Russia. What corporatism is alive well in Europe today. Structurally speaking what you have in Germany today is what you had in a Nazi Germany but there is a major difference though not in the structure but the way the structure operates or the participants of the structure and the mechanisms that serves and checks the balances to protect Germany or the system from evolving or devolving into what happened in Germany.
3. Why corporatism good but fascism is bad; that’s a debate. Why would it be better? Both are two different systems but have a very similar structure (the relationship between the government and the market). Just as Germany did not change its structure with the Nazi took over its just the people who ran the structure.
