Topic:1.Understanding the Role of Societal, Environmental, and Behavioral Risk Factors

Societal, environmental, and behavioral risk factors play a role in determining how long a person may live. Below is a list of factors that could potentially increase or decrease a person’s lifespan, depending upon whether the person participates or does not participate in the activity. Select two of the factors – one that increases, and one that reduces lifespan:
o Using/not using tobacco (including e-cigs)

o Engaging in physical activity/lack of physical activity

o Being obese/having a healthy weight

o Engaging in safe/risky sexual behavior

o Good nutrition/lack of proper nutrition

o Having a low/middle/high socioeconomic status

o Belonging to a particular race or ethnicity

o Having/not having access to care

o Having/not having health insurance

In your response, address the following:
o What effect does each of your chosen risk factors have on a person’s lifespan?

o Would each factor you selected increase or decrease a person’s risk of getting a disease?

o What age group would bear the greatest risk by participating in or being affected by the behavior you have identified?

o Explain and give an example for each of your chosen risks what the effect of combining additional risk factors with your selected risk might have on a person’s lifespan (e.g., a person with health insurance who is obese and has poor nutrition, but is physically active).

Your response should be at least 200 words. You must use at least one scholarly source that was published within the last five years, not including the textbook, and is cited in APA format.
