Unit 4: Ways of Knowing Faith

Description: For your final Unit Project you need to watch either the movie Dogma or Life of Brian and answer the following 3 questions, citing examples from the
movie and the books in Unit 4 (and other texts from Mosaic if they are relevant and support your discussion).The text you will cite may include any of
these sources below. Your project needs to be 3-5 pages double spaced, make an argument and support that argument with cited evidence (using MLA,
APA or Chicago formats). You must answer each question individually and combine them into a single coherent essay;your discussion(s) must have a
thesis, topic sentences, cited evidence, and analysis. Make sure you proofread your work for grammar and sense before submission. Please discuss: 1.
What religion(s) is/are being satirized in the film? How? Give specific examples and cite. 2. Pick one character (or group) from the movie and relate
him/her to the texts from the Unit. How do they fit (or not fit) within the cultural traditions which created the religious texts? Why? Give Specific examples
and cite. 3. What themes do you see in the movie? Are they similar or different than the Unit texts? Do they fit within our broader discussion this
semester? Make use of all the sources if possible.
