. Everyone is required to answer all the questions for each video. Additionally, each week, everyone should reply to at least two peers. Please post your initial response to the video questions first then respond to your peers. Grading Rubric for Discussion Board Posts The key components of an excellent response are: 1. A description of the main idea of the video is present 2. A personal reaction to the video is given and explained effectively 3. The response includes some discussion of how the video applies to or adds to one’s understanding of the concept of community – this is best when it is shown to apply to a real-life example 4. A strategy that a community leader might implement is articulated – this strategy is shown to clearly follow from the video in some way 5. At least two peer responses in paragraph format. (Minimum 5-8 sentences) 6. Discussing a connection that the viewer sees between this video and a previous video is an extra plus! 7. A conclusion should be present 8. Each video should be with 3 to 4paragraphs .. Teacher will rate as: The maximum grade for any one response is 10 (perfect). One of Dave’s ongoing goals is to share stories of what school volunteers are doing worldwide to inspire others to get involved.
