TOPIC OF RESEARCH: Victim assistance provided by the police
Conduct research on websites of three police departments. Write an analysis of
the current website on each of the three police departments. Navigate through each website and
find what information is available for victims (if any). Determine if each website is easy to find
victim assistance information for victims. Determine if there are any barriers for victims to receive
the assistance, if assistance is provided by the police department. For example, if the victim
is disabled, elderly, does not have transportation, cannot speak English, etc?would these
barriers limit the victim to receive the victim assistance?
Secondly, research and find three different organizations, other than police departments,
that provide assistance to victims. Identify the organization describe what the organization
offers to victims and, in your opinion, if the organization?s assistance is easy for the victim
to obtain.
