In my work environment wireless technologies and networks are a must.

The pros for wireless and networks in a workplace includes mobility, flexibility, cost reduction and productivity.  By being mobile, it allows us to move around freely anywhere, at any time within a structure or multi-structures and remain connected to information in real time whereas twenty years ago this wasn’t possible. I can access the Internet, check emails wherever I’m located within the building. Conference rooms, the entire office space and public areas become more flexible. Wherever you place your wireless device ie laptop, become a fully functional area. The wireless network provides extra capacity instantly, wherever you need it in your work environment. By using wireless technologies and networks, the cost becomes efficient, by reducing the amount of time of running cables through the ceilings and walls of an organization. As the organization grows it is easier to add to the wireless network. As for productivity, any users can access the information or resources they need, when they need it. Employees that work remotely ie from home can stay connected to the organization without being at the organization.

The cons of wireless technologies and network in the work environment is always the security issues.
