In this final module for the subject we invite you to think about what leadership might look like in the future for you.
2 Leadership and learning

We will begin by revisiting relationships between leadership and learning. In the very first module in this subject you were given a quotation from M. Christine DeVita, President, The Wallace Foundation, in her foreword to the text by Leithwood, Louis, Anderson and Wahlstrom (2004). At the time, you were asked to make some comments about what you imagined were the relationship between leading and learning outcomes.

Whereas Brookfield (2009) introduced the idea of learning as a way of leading, Lingard, Hayes, Mills and Christie (2003) were working with the idea of leading learning as a spin-off of research they had undertaken in Queensland (and which many school teachers will know resulted in the New Basics Program).
