The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to demonstrate your theoretical, conceptual and practical understanding of workplace learning that you gained in this course and appropriately apply these for the development of expert knowledge and skills.

Task Description
Select or imagine a novice worker ( i.e. one who has just joined) in your workplace and design a workplace learning plan for him/her to become an expert. Based on the conceptual, theoretical and practical understandings of how workplace learning can contribute to the development of expert knowledge and skills make recommendations about learning provisions for the development of expertise. Use relevant literature to support and justify your arguments.

Design a learning plan for the worker to develop the types of knowledge, skills and competencies he/she is expected to learn to become an expert. Suggest a schedule of learning episodes, appropriate workplace pedagogies for each episode and how these will contribute to specific learning outcomes. Based on the conceptual, theoretical and practical understandings of how workplace learning can contribute to the development of expert knowledge and skills make recommendations about specific provisions for the development of expertise. State how you will evaluate the effectiveness of the learning plan. Use relevant literature to support and justify your arguments.
Conclusion
Summarise the learning plan and provide recommendations to your manager about any specific affordances to support the worker-learner with his/her learning to advance from being a novice to an expert.
