Afghanistan has been in
political turmoil for almost a
quarter century and, basically, it has been an economy without any interaction with rest of the world. Traditionally, the Afghan economy has
produced dried fruits and nuts (
using labor and orchards) and woolen rugs (using labor and cattle). The
World Bank makes a major investment and claims that improvement in labor productivity in both fruit and rug sectors, as a result of their targeted investment, can benefit ALL workers, orchard owners and cattle owners in Afghanistan. Evaluate the World Bank s claim: clearly state your assumptions under which you agree or disagree with them.
