a) What is data mining and the benefits of data mining to organisations?
b) Describe the steps involved in data mining when viewed as a process of knowledge discovery.
c) Suppose that you are employed as a data mining consultant for an Internet search engine company or a social network service provider. Describe how data mining can help the company (either one of the two above) by giving specific examples of how techniques, such as clustering, classification, association rule mining, anomaly detection, etc. can be applied.
d) Discuss the ethical concerns in data mining.
