Choose an advertisement, either video or still-image, that contains depictions of people.

Describe the patterns around race that you see in the advertisement. For example, which racial/ethnic groups (White, Black, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Latino/Hispanic) are visible? Are people in certain race groups organized into particular roles and/or actions?

Secondly, consider the decoding process you went through when watching this advertisement. What sorts of meanings about race did you read in these advertisements? In particular, if someone were to learn about racial dynamics in the U.S. purely through this ad, what might (s)he think?
